At Heaford, we are excited to introduce the latest additions to our growing team, each bringing their own unique skills and passion to further strengthen our commitment to innovation and engineering excellence.
Please allow us to introduce you to our new starters who are poised to make their mark:
Mohammed Mafuz Ali – known affectionately as ‘Ali’, Mohammed Mafuz Ali began his journey with Heaford in June 2023, as a Mechatronic Apprentice on our shop floor. Inspired to follow in his brother Hakim’s footsteps, Ali’s connection with Heaford runs deep. Having previously engaged with us during work experience while pursuing his Level 3 BTEC Engineering at Manchester College, Ali’s genuine interest and ability for assembly and testing shone through.
We’re now delighted to welcome him as a permanent fixture in our team. Over the next four years, Ali will be honing his skills as a Mechatronics Engineer, complemented by academic studies at Trafford College, following the path set by his elder brother Hakim.
Saul Moorcroft – stepping into the role of Design Engineer at Heaford with an impressive background. His journey first began as an apprentice, during which he uncovered a fascination for design. Pursuing his passion, Saul earned a HND in electrical engineering with a distinguished overall distinction grade.
With substantial experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer under his belt, specialising in creating tailor-made machinery for the food packaging industry, Saul brings a wealth of creativity to our team.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Saul finds his balance through CrossFit training, consistently pushing his limits in various competitions. He’s also engaged in the exciting venture of renovating a new home with his partner.
Chris Collins – Joining our ranks just a few weeks ago, Chris Collins has already made an impact as a Mechanical Fitter/Engineer on our shop floor. With 26 years’ experience as a Marine Engineer in Cornwall, Chris’s decision to relocate led him to Heaford.
His transition has been seamless, as his well-honed skill set aligns with our operations. Chris is already progressing swiftly in his training on our ELS and FTS range. We couldn’t be happier to welcome him aboard, recognising his potential to contribute to the team.

With Ali, Saul, and Chris joining us, we are even more energised to push the boundaries of innovation and deliver efficient solutions to our clients. The future looks incredibly promising as we continue to nurture talent, foster creativity, and drive excellence in engineering.
David leads and supports the Heaford team, developing and empowering our people to ensure we maintain our position as experts in prepress efficiency. He’s been in the print industry for over 35 years and with Heaford since 2016.
