Interflex Dalkeith has reported significant gains in print accuracy, efficiency, and workflow flexibility following its investment in a ModularMount semi-automatic plate mounter.

ModularMount is an upgradable plate mounting solution that can be easily scaled from manual to fully automatic operation depending on a printer’s requirements and future job basket.

The decision by Interflex Dalkeith to invest in our modular plate mounting platform a little over a year ago signalled a return to a trusted supplier after previous experience with an alternative system, which fell short of expectations.

Since installation, the impact on production performance has been immediate and measurable. For example, Interflex Dalkeith had been experiencing challenges with tight register requirements on certain jobs, an issue that was quickly resolved.

Craig McNeill, Print Manager at Interflex Dalkeith, noted: “For some jobs where the register was particularly tight, the results were instant with an immediate improvement.”

Pre-press efficiency has similarly improved and the speed at which Interflex Dalkeith is now mounting plates has ‘greatly improved’.

Beyond register accuracy and speed of mounting, the MM3 model installed by Interflex Dalkeith has unlocked new operational capabilities. Specifically, the integration of cutting tools has enabled the business to bring additional processes in-house, improving both efficiency and control.

Craig McNeill, Print Manager at Interflex Dalkeith, noted: “We are now cutting butt fit jobs on the mounter with a great deal of success. “The speed we mount jobs has also greatly improved.”

Craig drew attention to the strength of the customer support received as another key factor in the overall success of the investment. “We’ve experienced nothing but excellent service, excellent training, and even better aftersales service when a couple of minor teething problems were fixed online and over a phone call,” said Craig.
