What LOUPE Americas 2026 taught us about flexo in the region

Heaford demo at LOUPE Americas 2026

LOUPE Americas 2026 has come and gone, and the Heaford team has returned with plenty to reflect on.

Beyond the conversations on the stand, the show offered a useful snapshot of how flexo printers are thinking, investing and operating right now.

Here are the themes that stood out.

Simplicity continues to win the room

The clearest message from the show was how strongly visitors responded to plate mounting that is quick to learn and easy to repeat. Live demonstrations on the wide web ModularMount drew a lot of interest, not just the super fast and accurate plate positioning but also the semi-auto tape application drew real interest from printers who could see how much time and inconsistency a well-designed process removes.

The FTS range continued to generate a similar reaction. Visitors who tried it were quick to notice how little operator skill it takes to achieve an accurate, repeatable result. One printer who had an FTS for a number of years described it as the best piece of equipment for improving his operation that he had bought in decades.

Wider web flexo printing is getting bigger

With more converters printing flexible packaging and for a broader mix of applications, wide format mounting capability is increasingly relevant. Seeing a wide web ModularMount in action helped visitors picture how a modular platform could be adapted to their own requirements, starting at one level of automation and growing as demand does.

Smaller machines were part of that conversation too. Narrower web printers were keen to understand how the same principles of accuracy and ease of use scale down to their format.

What this means for plate mounting

When budgets are scrutinised and investment is cautious, the case for plate mounting is straightforward. It is a low-risk, high-return part of the process. Accurate mounting reduces wasted plates and substrate, cuts setup time and keeps presses running. A system that can be upgraded in stages means converters can invest in line with actual demand rather than guessing at the future.

LOUPE Europe 2027 now starts to come into focus. The learnings from LOUPE Americas 2026 will shape how Heaford presents its solutions in Barcelona next year.
